First, the silver finish you see below is an aluminum collar that reinforces the door at the drive so it doesn't crack like the originals. The fit is exact except on my truck I had to widen the drive hole to allow the door to pivot freely. Mounting the back mount is also very finicky. Make sure it is properly seated and moves freely before closing the camera and attaching the drive. Also buy a new drive. They're cheap and will pay for themselves 1000x after replacing that door. Ordered to fit when replacing the heater core on a 2001 Ford F150. The quality looked very good and as mentioned it has a socket which is a great way to avoid this in the future. Why 3 stars? In my case it did not fit flush with the heater core frame. It had a gap of about 1/8-1/4 inch. I could probably just sand down the limiting plastic that defines the range of motion. Replacing on my 98 F150 is a miserable 8 hour job. Requires full dashboard removal (partial). There are a lot of corners that can be cut, but it's just impossible to make this project quick or easy, especially when it comes to 100 screws and bolts. Watch the online video beforehand. My only gripe is the metal bushing that reinforces the bottom hinge. If you install it as is it may last longer but you will have to ream the hole it goes in. The original door did 200,000 miles without this bushing

The original factory door broke on my 1998 F150 after 14.5 years. It is very difficult to get to the air conditioning chamber behind the dashboard where this door is located. Basically you have to tear off the entire dashboard to get at it, about 8 hours of work.
