Dorman 917 503 Hub Mounting Hardware Review

Ordered to replace a front hub on a 2008 Chevy Impala. Some auto repair shops will probably say that replacing these screws is overkill, but for a few bucks it just adds an extra layer of protection.

These were fitted to a 2000 Buick Century. Factory specifications state these bolts should be torqued to 96 ft-lbs. 3 different brands of 13mm heads were used and all 3 people rounded the hex head of these bolts to less than 70 feet of force. Needless to say I don't think these are sockets. 13mm seems a little sloppy, but not by much. The factory screws I removed weren't sloppy at all. Exactly what the doctor ordered. These Dorman wheel hub bolt kits are a steal. Local auto parts stores wanted the same quantity for 1 bolt, while Revain dealer Dorman offers the same bolts in a set of 3 for roughly the same price. $$$ says. These Dorman 917-503 bolts will not work on Kappa without modifications, although they were used on many other GM vehicles of the time. However, the product is just as good as it is in stock. Kappa platform = M12 1.75 45mm with 15mm head. This is = M12 1.75 50mm with 13mm head. tight. The shoulder is fine, wider than the standard.
