🔍 Dorman OE Solutions 907-716 Magnetic Camshaft Position Sensor: Enhanced Precision and Reliability Review

I normally trust Dorman products but I installed this part and it failed after 2 months. This morning my daughter died on a busy highway. I guess I have to buy OEM now.

Worked perfectly for 3 months until the seal stopped preventing engine oil from getting engine oil into the sensor. Oil got into the spark plug and caused all sorts of cross talk signals to the computer. I bought a part from the dealer for $151 but I can't get in traffic anymore!

Seems to work fine at first, but a few days after the machine suddenly shut down, then after changing the sensor connector, checking the distribution systems, etc..., they came and checked the sensor carefully, and the damaged original sensor worked better than this one. Since it takes about 3 months to come to this conclusion, the warranty had expired, then I got a new original and it works great.

Installed this Dorman cam sensor on my 2004 Nissan Altima to do preventive maintenance only. Because in the past I have replaced my bank 2 camshaft sensor which actually failed and the engine code light came on. After installing a Dorman aftermarket sensor, my car ran horribly and needed more power to start. Had to reinstall the original OEM sensor to get the car back to normal running condition. I bought this sensor and 2 others to replace the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors on a 2006 Nissan Quest. There were sporadic starting problems which I think could be caused by a faulty fuel pump. I replaced the pump and the problems went away by the next hot day. The vehicle turned off and on once while driving and stopped a second time while driving. I then bought all 3 sensors from a Nissan dealership (about $400 for all 3).
