Every Dovo product is great! The quality of the steel is just amazing. A good sharpening and thorough pre-shave cleaning and you can shave for months without needing another stone session. I have seven Dovo straight razors, the oldest is from 1940 and looks like it was made this year and is brand new. I would absolutely say they are value for money whether you are a beginner or a wet shaving pro. I made the mistake of buying someone else's cheap razor for my first razor because I didn't want to

don't get me wrong the razor holds the blade well. However, the blade on the Dovo is not standard. I bought a razor in my sophomore year and unfortunately the blade broke. It has never rusted in 20 years. The new razor I just bought, the one pictured above, rusts every time I use it. While I make sure to dry it and coat it with some oil, I should still check it before the next shave. When it rusts, it leaves those unsightly stains. I regret not returning this item sooner than the window closed.

I was extremely pleased to purchase this razor and made sure I have everything I need to start shaving. However, I am deeply disappointed that the blade was not shave ready upon arrival. I used a whetstone and belt to sharpen it but couldn't get it sharp enough.
