I should have bought this thing many years ago. I settled for a cheap hook sharpener that was cumbersome to use, so I didn't use it often. This one hangs on my waistcoat, and each bow tie is dyed as it is tied. The hooks are very sharp after a few swings. If I miss, it's definitely not because my hook wasn't sharp. i think you will like it
