For those of you using this on a small dog this is PERFECT!. The silicone is very soft and the bristles are very short and soft. I have a chihuahua and this is the only brush I've found that fits just right. I would say my hands are about a woman's normal size, covering almost the entire length of my index finger. I am only reviewing this toothbrush for our Pomeranian who weighs only 7lbs Thought I'd give it a try! It sits well on the finger but runs down to the base and restricts the flexibility of the fingers, making it difficult to maneuver around a small dog's mouth. Fits in my small dog's mouth and fits my finger very well. Finger brushes for small animals are poorly thought out and apparently not tested for functionality. It measures 2-1/2" L x (slightly larger) 1/2" diameter at the fingertip - the smallest end and the bristles start right at the fingertip.
