I initially gave this product a bad review because the alarm setup process wasn't very reliable. The manufacturer should explain this process. In operating mode, however, the volume is excellent, and the reception - thanks to the built-in antenna - is also very good (including NOAA stations). This small . and I want to emphasize a bit: the radio has excellent sound quality. We've just received it, so it's impossible to judge its durability or battery life. We bought it hoping it would make a good gift for an 86 year old Angel of the Salvation Army. for yourself and buying a decent sized radio with an AM/FM clock. Not as easy as it seems. The best ones marked with 4 or 5 stars are for FM only. I highly recommend this radio for its sound quality and portability.

This is a great little radio that runs on just 2 AA batteries. I got them because I only want to stock up on ONE type of battery in the event of a disaster. When everything you have is powered by a single battery, it's easier to buy and stock in bulk. I have mini magnetic headlights as well as large headlights and flashlights that run on AA batteries. Well I had to put in the batteries that came with the kit and set the time to 1st but then I switched to the 1st weather band and did a report from NWS Monterey, California.
