This is a great little radio that runs on just 2 AA batteries. I got them because I only want to stock up on ONE type of battery in the event of a disaster. When everything you have is powered by a single battery, it's easier to buy and stock in bulk. I have mini magnetic headlights as well as large headlights and flashlights that run on AA batteries. My emergency radio etc. is all AA. Trust me, don't rely on 3 different types when your item stops working. Get your system on a battery. The radio works well, sounds good and supports weather channels. It is very compact and can be easily packed in a pocket or storage bag. I would even say if you are looking for a quality small radio to use anytime, camping, outdoors or on the patio this is perfect. It's not a full stereo, but you get what you want.
