🪡 Dritz 3175 Seam Ripper - Including Threader Tool Review

The seam ripper is VERY difficult to remove from the protective coating. However, after struggling to push it out through the other end with a chopstick, I was finally left with a broken chopstick and a working seam ripper, missing the soft plastic ball on its short stub.

This ripper broke within the first week I had it. The tip is very brittle, very sharp, light and agile, but brittle. I tried twisting and clicking the lace a little in the seam, the whole lace came loose. I tried filing the remaining plug and whatever the material, even a metal file would not be needed to sharpen it. I realize it's only a few bucks and the cheapness of the pen isn't an issue, but snapping for days just tearing the seams of the garment (its intended use) is pretty flimsy.

On the table next to my chair I keep a plastic box with a small assortment of thread, needles, magnetic pincushion, button clips, and seam ripper while I sit and make quilts. This seam ripper is a great addition and replaces the one I had in the box. I like that there is a needle threader at the other end. It works with rather small needle eyes and the needle threader has a protective cap. Such a simple yet practical thing. I like it!
