    used the new DVD/CD drive as a third spare drive.

    Used new DVD/CD drive as 3rd drive replacement on Windows XP desktop, software package not tried yet (Nero 12) but drives work and are fully functional. A+ A+ A+

    Software installs adware/malware, drive not as pictured

    I was disappointed that this is not the CD drive advertised. Not sure if the one in the photo will be any better, but this one has poor build quality. It rattles and the circuit board on the back is very faulty. The software disc is adware/malware that installs AskToolbar on all your browsers without permission. I had to reinstall Chrome and Firefox to completely remove it. It's also horribly packaged. I should have just bought the drive and SATA cable separately.

    Excellent drive the best internal components

    The drive is excellent, worked every time, records DVD perfectly. But after years of experience with it: Nero. not worth your trouble. Get 360 Total Security and make sure to activate Bitdefender and Avira AntiVir Engine. What's included with 360 is fine on its own, but these two are the best you can do. Nero is about buying the name, not the quality you get like Apple and Starbucks. Surname. Oh yes, seller? I hope your experience is better than mine.

    Good Value Computer Components

    Arrived with a dent in the metal case which I had to straighten to fit the bay slot. Drive works well, good quality cable. One star deducted because the Nero software is only a trial version. Haven't installed it.

    Good hardware, useless software

    DVD burner works great. The cables were much better than expected and were very welcome. On the other hand, the copy of Nero 12 provided was just a trial version. This will make it unusable after the trial period. There are working and free programs on the Internet that are not trial versions.

    The one it replaced lasted 6 years

    I built a PC in 2013 and used an Asus drive in it. It got to the point that the tray wouldn't open. He was still working and had many years and hours in the ministry. Why not get another one? Asus seems to be much better for long-term service.

    Internal Optical Drive Packaging Warning

    Very little attention was paid to the packaging for the shipment of this product. Will be shipped in a plastic bag without a bumper. There was some rattling in the block, but after I installed it it worked, although it has a distinct hum when in operation. The question now will be how long it will work. I've bought a lot of electronic equipment over the years and have never had drives shipped this way.

    Does the drive work, Nero? Not as much.

    I installed the drive today and it works with the built-in burning feature of Windows 10. I burned a DVD and it works fine. I only gave my rating two stars because the Nero software cannot be installed. The Nero CD clearly says "trial version" and uses a different language to match the trial version of the software. The back of the DVD says "This trial does not expire after 30 days". In any case, this is all a moot point, since the installation of the software for it hangs. This is the only…
