You can only switch this on with the control box which means you have to install it in the cabin where you want to control the lights. You have a separate controller box for two different sets of lights, which means you have to install BOTH in the cockpit. I installed this on a 2003 Crown Victoria. I had to lengthen the power wires and I had to lengthen the two wires that went to the lights that were mounted on the grille as they didn't reach the car. I bought these lights a year and a half ago to add inexpensive emergency lighting to my truck (I'm a volunteer firefighter). For the price I wasn't expecting much and I got pretty much what I expected. They are still functional after a year and a half but have never been very bright.
