My teeth hurt the first time I applied toothpaste

I don't know why, but this toothpaste hurts the first time I put it on my teeth. As soon as I start brushing my teeth everything is fine, but for a few seconds I blink! I've read that if it comes in contact with areas of my teeth where the gums have receded, there could be SLS in the formula. I gave it 3 stars although besides the pain it cleans well and makes my teeth nice and bright!

Causes allergies - Toothpaste

Causes allergies within a week. I am allergic to many Sensodyne toothpastes and because she mentioned gum and tooth sensitivity I trusted her (tooth sensitivity is not a problem). I had to throw away both tubes that were in the box.
