Almost started an electrical fire, could have burned the house down!

Tonight I heard a funny noise in the kitchen, walked in, and the garbage disposal had turned itself on! I pushed the air switch, several times, and it would not turn off. Smoke was billowing out from under the sink, I unplugged it to turn it off. The power converter was so hot it was melting its' insides & the electrical outlet's plastic cover. I think water got into the air switch - which then flowed down to the power converter / outlet. We've opened the power converter's back and the inside…

Worked OK for 1 year. Now stuck in "on "position. Also leaks water.

It worked fine for 1 year. Then it got stuck in the "on" position. It also leaked water by the button, although it is advertised as waterproof. This defeats the purpose of a button installed on top of the sink - there will be water.I am expecting any such product to work for many years, not give up after 1 year of use. I'm disapointed. I'll try to work with the seller to see if they are willing to replace the product. I'll update my review if it is the case.

Pay attention to your options!

Works perfectly! My plumber even called back to see where to buy one for himself. Pay attention when you purchase this. It has the option to choose whether you want both plugs to operate together or separately. You must choose "separately" if you want the second plug to have uninterrupted current. This is very important if your second plug is for a dishwasher or heated water dispenser.

Life saver for my opinion

This thing is a life saver. Having a kitchen island theres nowhere for the switch but in cabinet underneath. Having a 1 year old theres the child proofing and just to have to get to the switch was a hassle. Now its quick and easy and looks good too.

Works great, easy to install

Works great. Easy to install. Only drawback is it feels like plastic, not as sturdy as metal, but a good value for the price. I am happy with the product.

  • While the kit provides a convenient way to operate your garbage disposal, it does not offer any additional features, such as sound insulation or odor control, that other garbage disposal models may offer
