Filtered our maple syrup

Excellent product. I bought this to make my own maple syrup filters. I cut them and sewed the seams and then sewed another seam for reinforcement. They were used on a 1 inch peristaltic vacuum pump and clamped onto the hose and they filtered well until it clogged. Then we just got another one. use and step. I'm sure you could wash and reuse in some applications but not in ours. Plan to use again.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Just what we needed

We use this material to filter oil used in our domestic freeze dryer. We can cut this material to the dimensions required for the filter canister. The one micron level of filtration is just what we need to keep the oil clean when it is reused in the freeze drying pump. We tried to find a filter bag that would fit in the bin but couldn't find the right size. This possibility of buying a sheet of material allows us to adjust the size to our needs. Simply cut with scissors.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

This felt is amazing. I use it for an inexpensive way.

This felt is amazing. I use it as an inexpensive way to filter out a small aquarium with ichthyophthyria. Nothing worked, so I investigated the effects of small micron filtration and water changes. I cut it to fit the filter and replaced it daily for several weeks. 72 inches x 1 yard is a lot of stuff. That would allow me to change filters every day for several months. I'm glad I don't need it because Ichthyophthyroidism seems to be GONE now! I will continue to use it and will definitely buy…

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good
