Pentek 10 Standard Housing Pressure Review

I bought these because I was using an older model that molded well. The combination of soft material and little or poor taper will prevent proper thread sealing regardless of the type of fitting used. Pentek, you lost me as a customer.

Perfect addition to the pre and post filter housing that splits into my Aquasana whole house water filtration system. I love the clear filters, but Aquasana no longer uses clear filters and uses a solid blue canister instead. I'm glad I was able to find her online. Now that I have received it I can see that it is the same brand that Aquasana used before they switched to the new body style.

After walking through the Texas cold (we were out of town) I returned to the broken frozen plumbing. Local stores did not have 1 inch PVC fittings. Everything was sold out before we arrived and nothing was replenished. I started buying things from Revain. This filter housing was the first to arrive and became an important part of my renovation. I was so pleased with its quality, thickness and clear filter chamber and the speed at which it arrived.

Leaks - Dampen a full paper towel about every 15 minutes. Bought because it had a clear filter housing to check the filter. My RV dealer installed it, thought it was sealed, but even a slow leak isn't satisfactory. I replaced the filter and o-ring and used the recommended o-ring sealant. The same problems. Perhaps the filter housing is cracked at the top, the sealing surface of the sealing ring is damaged. I installed too late to return it. You must be looking for something else. Need something

If there is nothing in it, a sticker with the inscription "Warning-cancer and reproductive damage" must stick then I'm seriously worried. There was no cartridge in it, it was just a plastic cartridge with a rubber washer. I haven't even tried it yet, but I know I'll give this review 1 star when I get a cancer warning from something I have to pipe clean water through to drink. What the hell is wrong with people? The plastic that makes up this filter is very soft to the touch and doesn't mix well with metal fittings. I've tried iron and brass fittings, including Sharkbite connections with Teflon tape, and later plumbing (specifically for metal and plastic) and no matter what I did it still leaked. I bought this filter housing from Pentek to replace a broken unit from another brand. It's dirty and needs replacing. The whole block is plastic, looks very thick and heavy. The red top outlet valve/knob is great for releasing the water pressure before opening or replacing the filter cartridge. This makes it easier to open and safer to work with. 4 stars because it's a good case. but the device I received came with the wrong o-ring. Glad it was an easy fix. The filter housing is excellent and is used with the Pentek 150578 MC-1A mount. This is one of the only filter housings that is clear, comes with a mount and uses a standard 10" filter. I have a feeling other leakage complaints stem from this issue. Will return. I will say bad. Seems strong enough; HOWEVER - there is a simple problem. It comes without a mounting bracket or wrench. Although it is stated that this is the case; this is a problem for me. Why? Because; I already installed one of those 10 inch filters and it's leaking. wanted to replace it. I bought this filter housing from Pentek to replace another brand unit that had a had crack. I like the clear plastic part/section makes it very easy to see when the sediment filter cartridge is dirty and needs replacing The entire unit is plastic and feels very thick and durable. This makes opening easier and makes working safer. Threaded connections with internal and external threads are designed for pipes with a 3/4 inch thread. I've found that it's best to use teflon tape to glue plastic to
