Review on Pentek 10 Standard Housing Pressure by Becky Gallegos

I bought this filter housing from Pentek to replace a broken unit from another brand. It's dirty and needs replacing. The whole block is plastic, looks very thick and heavy. The red top outlet valve/knob is great for releasing the water pressure before opening or replacing the filter cartridge. This makes it easier to open and safer to work with. Female and male thread connections are for 3/4" threaded pipes. I've found that using teflon tape to bond plastic to plastic is best than running sealant. Less chance of leaks. Hand tighten the clear plastic cup and a little more and you should be in good shape so there are no leaks. Also make sure the bowl liner is installed straight and lightly coated with silicone sealant. (Looks like it's already factory coated.) The filter housing accepts standard 9 7/8" or 10" filter cartridges. Just make sure the filter cartridge is centered on the bowl before screwing it onto the blue manifold, and there's no need to force it across to screw it on either. Just have a good time and take your time. In short, this is a great product to use as a pre-filter housing for my Peligun water purification system.
