Review on Pentek 10 Standard Housing Pressure by Joseph Adaymiln

I bought this filter housing from Pentek to replace another brand unit that had a had crack. I like the clear plastic part/section makes it very easy to see when the sediment filter cartridge is dirty and needs replacing The entire unit is plastic and feels very thick and durable. This makes opening easier and makes working safer. Threaded connections with internal and external threads are designed for pipes with a 3/4 inch thread. I've found that it's best to use teflon tape to glue plastic to plastic rather than using sealant. Less chance of leaks. Hand tighten the clear plastic cup and a little more and you should be in good shape so there are no leaks. Also make sure the bowl liner is installed straight and lightly coated with silicone sealant. (It appears to be factory coated.) The filter housing accepts standard 9 7/8" or 10" filter cartridges. Simply center the filter cartridge in the bowl first before screwing it to the blue manifold, and there's no need to force it across to allow threading, either. Just have a good time and take your time. In short, this is a great product to use as a pre-filter housing for my Peligun water purification system.
