I ran a conventional 16 inch board and rubber block for a while. Working with the dural block on a slightly curved surface requires you to bend the block properly and use proper technique, so it's not a pointless task. While it still requires some work and effort, it seemed to make creating a smoother surface on a smooth curve faster and easier. It just makes more sense than a hard short flat block to fit things like curved side skirts, fenders, wheel areas, etc.

I understand why these blocks are the gold standard for leveling plates. High-quality material, straight as an arrow. However, I bought this because it was said to "follow curves". Unfortunately, it's almost as hard as my wooden blocks. I had to deal with some very soft turns and that just doesn't fit without a STRONG push on the ends.
