Good rod for dissimilar metals

I have used this rod for welding railroad tracks and mild steel reinforcements. I preheated the parts and had no problems with joint cracking.

Pros
  • High marks from testers for reliability and durability
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Works perfectly! into Welding and Brazing

I'm relatively new to welding and this was my first experience welding stainless steel to mild steel metal. This rod worked great! I only need a small quantity of rod so it was very convenient that this seller sells them in 1/2 pound quantities.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Useless Features

As expected

Pretty sturdy welding rods. They are well packaged and work just like the 309L-16. I have 65-70 amps. When it comes to thin stainless steel, you definitely need to be quick. The weld burns badly, but I don't see any side effects.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Weight

Adheres strongly to steel, but too much slag

I'm using this one for the first time. I welded on a broken steel trench tool. First I sanded it at an angle and you can see the result. I was happy with this result. I have to adjust the settings but it's not that bad and seems stronger than the original. I welded both sides. The second time I used them I tried to build up some metal for a worn tool. The slag was too big and too fast so I had to stop to clean it before I could do a second pass and it didn't come off easily. I then switched to…

Pros
  • As before, all
Cons
  • For old
