I seem to have tried many belt sanders - probably my fourth or fifth in the last few years. In the past I've gravitated towards expensive brands like DeWalt, Makita, and Bosch, but I realize that the difference in performance between the two isn't big enough to justify the difference in cost. If you want to remove a lot of wood without waiting forever like a random orbit sander, look no further. This belt sander from Eastvolt is a pretty good tool, especially at this price point. The cord is long enough so that it doesn't get in your way and doesn't touch the work piece. I haven't tried hooking up my shop vacuum to the side outlet, but the bag picks up enough dust and since the pad doesn't have holes like an orbital sander, the dust inevitably ends up on the rest of the work area…
