Cool bulb, but left me cold.

My first positive 4 star comments are below. Unfortunately, the first bulb lasted less than 30 days with 3-4 hours of use per day. Maybe I was unlucky, but I don't want to do it again. What about you? It worked and it's a start as these imported LEDs aren't always reliable. The color balance is okay, a bit yellowish. The main benefit for me, with it being in the light just above the kitchen table, is that it's a lot cooler than the halogen it replaced. The old halogen radiated so much heat that

LED bulbs work well though.

They didn't fit the older, I mean OLD, LED headlight housing so I had to cut some metal, drill, etc to get the light for those old headlights. The original bulbs were about the size of a pencil, while the LED bulbs are larger in diameter, making them a bit large for my old bulb housings. But after I modified the cases they fit and work perfectly. The electrical contact positions are correct and did not need to be altered, but the surrounding reflector and metal base holding the spring contactsโ€ฆ

Short lifespan and insufficient light output

This was purchased for a ladder that is difficult to reach, so I was willing to trade brightness for durability. An ordinary halogen lamp lasts 1-2 years in this lamp. This lightbulb has worked fully for 3 months. Then the brightness changed to 1/2 most of the time, with occasional bursts of full brightness, similar to a Christmas lights effect. It is installed in a fully ventilated open-top mount. It is circuit mounted with a high quality switch, not a dimmer. I switched it to regular halogenโ€ฆ
