I was hoping to find one of the Echo mics released by Nickolodeon in the 90's. It's not such an echo, but it's quite interesting for my 16mph and a little risk for "fine detail". I accidentally put a fake "wire" in the back and in my opinion the "risk" was reduced to zero. She doesn't play music, which I love because no other toy plays music and doesn't grab her attention quite like this one. I would buy it again. Good luck mom!

Started playing with it, grandson ran, sang and lit lights. They found great effects in the dark and spent about an hour at their birthday party dragging all the adults back and forth to their bedroom to watch the lights illuminate their singing. I'm not sure if they put it in when they went to bed. I wouldn't be surprised. The echo is quiet, difficult to hear in the middle of a party, but audible enough for a child.

CHOKING HAZARD! NOT RECOMMENDED UNDER 3! This item was fine for the entire 5 minutes. The echo is barely audible unless your mouth is right in it and you're screaming. Within 10 minutes of playing, my 22 month old dropped it causing the bottom to fall out and a tiny ball falling out making it rattle which my daughter immediately picked up and put in her mouth. Luckily I was there to get him out. It's about the size of marble! Very poor quality and not suitable for children under 3 years!

The colors are really cute and the backlight definitely catches kids' attention, but my little one managed to reach the little hard ball inside. The birthday present was a hit! My 2 year old niece immediately liked this microphone rattle. She loves music and dancing, is gifted at it, hoping it will affect her verbalization. Cons: Your mouth basically has to be placed in the mic to yell into, barely getting a little echo back. However, little ears can hear that decibel echo, and they love it!
