Purchased to reduce allergens and potential dust mites. The zip pockets are very stiff and almost papery in texture from the packaging. Wash according to instructions before use. Did this and the texture was much better, more like a heavy fabric. The number of ties or threads seems very high, so I'm hoping that works. I'll throw away the old cases.

They are very soft after the first wash. They seem to help the cases stay on the pillows which tend to fall off in the mornings so that's a plus. Will order more. I'm allergic to cats so this is SUCH a lifesaver at my boyfriend's house. I no longer have a stuffy nose at night and most nights I can breathe through my nose with these bad boys! They will be a great present for my mother.

I was amazed at how quickly the pillowcases helped relieve the symptoms of my dust mite allergy. As soon as I received them (which was on time) I washed as instructed. Made pillows before bed. I had a very restful night's sleep and didn't wake up the next morning panting and coughing like I had on previous mornings. I would recommend these pillowcases to anyone allergic to dust mites.

Thank you for that! I'm so tired of bothering with bugs and so happy I finally have security in my stuff without worrying too much about having to deep clean EVERYTHING every time something happens. I feel safe knowing my bedding is protected! There is no plastic material on the outside - a soft yet exceptionally short pile fabric that can be easily hidden under any pillowcase you desire, or left on!

Been using it for 2.5 months now and I want to write that there is no rustling and noise from the material - that's what I was afraid of after reading some reviews I couldn't imagine on something, that made the sound of sleeping well or it looked like paper. Since you don't sleep directly on them - you cover them with your regular pillowcase - the only rustle you will hear is normal for your pillowcase's material. Buy without fear :)

Pillowcases and mattress topper are oversized, very large even though my mattress is very thick. "Too big" means the mattress pads or sheets don't fit well and are slipping off the dust cover. The fabric sticks to your fingertips, feels like paper, and looks cheap. I would return them if I didn't wait so long to use them. I don't recommend them for anything permanent. I will use them to cover the mattress and pillows during the move and then throw them away.

1 micron protection is definitely a sacrifice for comfort. While you'll definitely get allergen protection, it doesn't feel like cotton, which is no surprise. The smaller the pore/micron size, the more waterproof and stretchy you become. There is a rustling sound when you touch the material, but this is absorbed a little better if you put a pillowcase over it. It's okay for the price, but I feel like there are better options that are more comfortable and offer decent protection, like Allersoft.

They came and were very sturdy right out of the box but they are meant to be washed before use. So I soaked them in warm water with baking soda, then put them in the washing machine with just baking soda (no detergent) and then a vinegar rinse cycle. I ordered a standard size, they seemed too long and big when I first opened them so I thought I'd have to return them, but after washing (low drying) they seemed to shrink a bit but that was it enough to suit everyone.
