Design with the use of a screwdriver.

This Design and Drill set has four pieces that need to be put on the T-Rex, nine bolts, a screwdriver and stickers. Some of my younger preschoolers found it difficult to manipulate the small screwdriver correctly. They needed to use their fingertips in order to participate. More appropriate for the ages of 4-6. Once completed, the T-Rex has movable arms and legs and can sit and stand independently, A nice fine motor and fine motor planning activity. The stickers don’t add much.

Pros
  • My son just turned 4 and he plays with this a lot. He takes it apart and puts it together quite a bit.
Cons
  • May require supervision to ensure proper assembly and disassembly

easy to set up and use

It came with stickers but I don't like using stickers on children's toys. They get wet and then they don't look as nice. However, the toy looks wonderful without the stickers, too. It did not come with instructions, but the picture on the box shows where everything goes. The screwdriver is easy to use. It's hard to over-screw these, so I'm not worried about the screws getting stuck. The screws are identical in size and shape to others in the brand, so I can place other figurines from the set on

Pros
  • Educational Insights
Cons
  • May be too simplistic for older children

Needs a little more spit and polish.

Our grandsons live dinosaurs, so it was a no brainer to acquire this Educational Insights Design & Drill Take Apart T-Rex.It’s an attractive concept that needs a little more pit and polish. Better instructions, fewer stickers, and better packaging would all upgrade the overall value of this product. It’s a work in progress. A good work, but one that still on its way.

Pros
  • LET’S GET BUILDING: Kids roar into creative play and build coordination skills as they snap and screw parts and pieces together to assemble a T-REX with movable mouth and legs
Cons
  • Limited opportunities for imaginative play

Not very entertaining

My niece is 3.5 years old. We opened the toy together last week and even though she loves dinosaurs, the appeal of the toy wasn’t high. It took me 15 minutes to explain and show her how to screw the legs together. We took everything apart and I let her assemble the parts from the beginning. Once the Trex was all put together she walked him around the room for a little bit but lost interest. This toy might be revisited at a later date. I do think the size of the screws and colors are appropriate

Pros
  • With 13 detachable pieces, this toy allows kids to immerse themselves in imaginative storytelling and role-playing. They can assemble and reassemble the T-Rex using the kid-friendly tools provided, making playtime fun and engaging
Cons
  • Fairly expensive compared to other construction toys

Perfect for my 5 yr old

My daughter loved it. It was very easy for her to figure out and put together she played with it for a while but once putting together a few times she has gotten a little bored. But it was very fun for her for a while

Pros
  • Super cool and fun toy. Easy to assemble and no adult needed
Cons
  • Limited play value beyond the initial building process

Fun dinosaur good for me

So this is really cute and a lot of fun for my toddler. But the screws don’t stay in and I don’t know if it’s something my toddler is doing but they seem to always be loose and about to fall out or we randomly lose a limb off of the dinosaur lol it’s not a big deal because we just take them back up and go on our way but he really likes this dinosaur.

Pros
  • Suitable for diverse ages and genders: The Design & Drill T-Rex is a versatile toy that appeals to both girls and boys ages 3 and up. It's a perfect gift for kids who love dinosaurs, science, and exploration, and it provides endless hours of fun for children of all backgrounds and interests
Cons
  • Plastic construction may not appeal to parents looking for more eco-friendly options
