DON'T BUY if you want to adapt old cooking pans to an induction range

As others have noted, this plate adaptor does not effectively make a non-induction pan into one suitable for cooking.As an experiment, I tested 2 identical pans with identical volumes of water to test how long it took to boil the water. The pan over the gas range and a medium setting quickly started to boil the water. The pan over the adapter plate never reached boiling after 5 minutes.I used a remote thermometer to test the temperatures of the plate and pan surface, and both remained well…

Awesome solution for induction stoves

Bought this for my mom to be able to use her old pots and pans on her new Induction stove. We had no idea they could not be used so thankfully this is an affordable work around.Now mom can use any non magnetic pan on this cool gadget and has saved a couple hundred dollars by not having to replace her cookware.

It works as advertised.

I bought this item so I could still cook with my cast iron skillets/dutch oven on my glass top stove. It works wonderfully to keep the cast iron from scratching the glass.

Pros
  • Handles gets warm after being on the stove for awhile. Other than that, happy with purchase.

  • Turned colored quickly and changed stained my brand new cooktop because of it

Works perfectly - don't expect to keep it looking new

It fits the small burner on my GE induction stove perfectly, heats up very quickly and distributes heat evenly to whatever I put on it. It's pretty heavy, so it stays put and doesn't tip with the weight of the handle. As other reviewers have noted, it does get dirty and discolored. You can make it look like new with stainless steel cleaning powder, but I usually just give it a quick wash and live with the discoloration.

Versatile and sturdy

Very sturdy. Never a worry on if it will support my big kettle pans. I also use it for heating tortillas. Love this and would recommend to anyone.

Has yet to work but very sturdy

I tried to use this to make popcorn in my Whirlipop on the induction stovetop and after trying twice, I have not been successful. The bottom of the plate burned and while the bowl got hot, it didn't successfully pop the popcorn. It may just have been user error (maybe bad food) but so far, it hasn't worked for me.

Nice but has limited use for induction

Nicely made and sturdy. Only problem I’ve had is, when using on induction cooktop, if your pot bottom is much smaller than this plate diameter the plate will overheat and cause the induction cooktop to shut itself off.

Well worth it. - my new review

Works well. I wasn't used to gas ranges. This allows me to keep stuff simmering without scorching. Durable, easy to wash and looks good.

Pros
  • Crooked rivets and handle may get in the way on a pot over 10" but overall good product
Cons
  • Warped after half dozen uses
