I wanted to use one with filament for my 3D printer. I would say the humidity feature is more of a suggestion. The disappointment at reception was that they can't seem to register anything below 18%. A higher quality hygrometer showed 8%, but this one showed 18%. They stay at 18% until another hygrometer crosses 18%. The positive(?) was that they all seemed to be reading the same incorrect information, so at least they were consistent.

Many cars tell you what the temperature is outside the car. But I didn't have a machine that would talk about the temperature inside the machine. I'm in Michigan and I'd like to know why I'm so cold [or hot]. This isn't the best sensor. It indicates low temperature and very high humidity. Installation is easy. A piece of PVC pipe. I was hoping to check the temperature in 5 different rooms but none of the theses read the same. They all give different readings by more than degrees C and one has a 20% higher moisture reading than the others. But for the price it's not worth sending back. Received today. In fact, they were all almost identical in RH and temp to begin with. After being put on the table for several hours, they are now all at the same relative humidity and within 1 degree Fahrenheit of each other. You are already loaded. Going from C to F is kind of clever. You have to use a metal object to short out the circuit you can see through the hole on the back and then as soon as it changes, quickly pull out the metal object and hope the F stays.
