ElecGear PS4 Cooling Fan and USB Hub: Smart Temperature Controlled Cooler & 5-Port USB 3.0 Adapter for Playstation 4 CUH-1xxx Review

ok so i am giving the product 4 stars ua because the fan works great but the usb hub sucks which caused my ps4 controller to fail and take care of itself shut down and my external hard drive remained faulty I had to repair it multiple times before it failed and stopped working. I had to buy a new external hard drive so I could re-download all my games. I'm not happy with it at all, but the fan is worth the headache.

The multiport is totally useless. Plugged it in and tried to mount my disk and none of the 4 ports read my disk. Plug it into one of 2.0 and it says it should be in 3.0 but the 3.0 slot doesn't read it. But it works without multiport. The fan beeps for about 10 minutes on first boot and about 10-15 minutes after the system shuts down and can be very annoying. At first it didn't work at all until I tapped it hard a few times.

I've had it for almost a year (maybe longer) and it still works. It's very quiet at first but after 7 or 8 months of use one of the fans gets a bit loose from time to time and makes noise but all it takes is a little nudge and it's back to normal. I don't even notice the fan separating when I play with headphones, only when I take them off I hear it and it's not even that loud, it sounds like PS4 Pro when running 4k games. Aside from the occasional wobbly fan (after almost a year of inactivity)

I was able to install the fan assembly on the back of the PS4 Pro with no problems, did it without seeing the front as I didn't want to remove the Playstation from its place and it snapped and plugged it into the USB port and everything was fine and it works and no noticeable fan noise. I suspect this helps keep the PS4 cool as the Playstation fans don't go into high speed mode which reduces the loud fan noise which reduces heat build up inside and gives the PS4 Pro a longer lifespan. PlayStation still gets warm but not as hot as before. The only thing I don't like is the creaking at first start and when it cools down. When everything is going well, you can't even tell it's on. I think the fan works as advertised but even at high power I think they have more exhaust flow without the fan installed, they cover the original fan outlets and I think overall make it worse. Also, since I have an external hard drive and wireless headset, I needed more available USB jacks on the front, and the adapter you get does a terrible job of providing enough power to even use it.
