This recorder performs as well, if not better, than some of the more expensive recorders. I use two for high resolution cameras and get excellent quality video. Very easy to set up and just plug and play.

I couldn't get this product to work. I contacted the manufacturer, they were nice but informed me that they had updated the product's internal software. I could only get it to recognize the USB audio device. I'm not sure if this works with other OS versions. This is a plug and socket device only. No drivers! Update - 1 year later still rubbish When I bought this I wasn't expecting it to be great but I'm still disappointed. My biggest disappointment was that a USB connection was required to view the HDMI signal on the TV. This means if you're using it to play and record video games on a PC and restart or turn off your computer, your video game feed will also disappear from the TV, even if it's a pass-through connection. I use it with OBS and wired. And it works very well. While it sometimes makes noise when moving a lot, I'm not sure if that's due to software issues. For the price and for my specific application (talk show) this is definitely the best option. By the way, you need USB 3.0

The device works but I found the colors are not that accurate. I use it in Ubuntu 18.04 with Obs Studio to record gameplay on PS4 or Xbox. As I said, it works and I can record in 1080p60fps, but I don't really like the colors. I also have an Elgato HD60s and it produces much better colors but doesn't support Linux. So to finish, yes it works. I can record 1080p60fps on Ubuntu with obs studio but the colors are not that good.

I bought this product specifically to download videos from the console to my computer. I've used OBS Studio with it and the combination has consistently given me great visual and audio results. The biggest problem is that the device cannot play continuous audio; the accompanying video is unmistakable. I use 2 of these encoders to record hockey games at the miniature (16U) level. One unit is connected to a Sony Ax 53 camcorder, which shoots 1920 x 1080 at 60fps to record the in-game action, and to a Canon hf-52 which is attached to the scoreboard. Both inputs are fed into OBS V22 for picture-in-picture. There is no live stream at the rink, so I record via OBS. When I look at footage I see dropped frames and dead pixels.
