This thing works great! I bought this for my husband because he hates even a mosquito in the house. We live in Texas and the mosquitoes are huge, vicious and numerous. I don't usually buy Black and Decker products because they often break, but I decided to give this a try. It requires two AA batteries to operate, which doesn't excite me. I bought one that came with a USB cord and didn't need batteries to run. It works pretty well and I've killed a lot of mosquitoes with it. You're going to look like an idiot fiddling around with this thing. stunned. not killed - the protective mesh around the electrical part of the fly swatter is too thick and large. They won't kill bigger flies. they just bounce off the guard - small bugs go through the mesh unharmed because the striker's electrical mesh is too thin - you lose your footing if you hold down the ON button, which activates the electricity for the fly swatter while you brandish and wave weapons.
