DO NOT use in ovens to turn on the built-in fan.

Although the oven switched on 24 VAC hot/cold supplies the required mA, the relay quickly burns out after only one switching operation. I ran 115VAC through com and NO respectively and in parallel and in theory this should have allowed the fan to run on hot or cold cycle. It ran in the cold but as soon as I checked the heat cycle I smelled burnt electronics and quickly identified it as a relay. Again, DO NOT BUY an oven to change the built-in fan.

Not suitable for heating systems

Trying to use this in a heating system to switch pumps. The side relay power supply (24VAC) blew and my 24V power supply (transformer) died. This is only the case after less than 24 hours of use. I would absolutely not recommend this relay. Look at the picture showing the burnt diodes for the input of one of the relays. This should never happen. Especially after less than 24 hours of use. Ultimately, this causes me to buy a new 24VAC transformer and worry about the potential fire hazard, which…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I bought this relay because it activates at 24VAC and I use it with my central air conditioner to power an optional 6" duct fan. in the basement, but the power received was lower than expected, so the automation of an additional duct fan solved the low flow problem. Source to a duct fan. This relay works as expected with no noise. I recommend this solid state relay for the way I use it as it's the only one I've found that works with either AC or DC energizing voltage current.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required
