Elegant and useful: Dining and Leisure

I love these coasters. They are simple but look expensive. I turn them over and use them as a base to make my own coasters. I paint the tops of the buttons with glass/ceramic paint. After baking the tops of the buttons, I use carpet tape to attach the tops of the 3.5 inch buttons to the rounded bottom. Then I line the gutter with small glass tiles and glue them in place. After grouting the tiles, I add four small plastic tabs (which will serve as legs) on the opposite side. The finished product

Pros
  • Dining and Leisure
Cons
  • Slightly torn

What a pleasant surprise when I opened these stainless steel trivets! I actually bought coasters to place under two 3" candles on my dining table. I didn't want candle wax on the maple table so these coasters kept the candles from soiling the table. a matte, shiny silver color with a "slightly" hammered appearance - not bumpy at all. Very flattened look, that's what I was looking for. I have two extra coasters (came in a set of four). I use them under anything that has a surface to protect.

Pretty but needs regular cleaning

They lasted a good year or so without a single rust. My only complaint is that there is sort of an almost waxy finish to protect the metal, but it tends to stain the coasters after just a use or two because it will hold the water ring and any condensation that gets on it. This means I wash them often with soap and water to keep them from looking dirty and dull. Tried Windex, nothing seems to have changed. For the price they're great and I'm glad they hold up so well with regular use, but I wish
