Suitable for standard electrical boxes!

Unlike other flush mount surge protectors, this one fits in a standard box. I was also able to secure a nearby outlet by following the instructions. Both sockets are now protected. I don't know if it really works unless there is a power surge.

So far so good: Accessories and consumables

Had to buy a blue rebuilt double box from HD but when finished it fitted perfectly. Ideal for installation behind a flat screen TV. I know my tv is safe because it says lol in bright blue letters. Stick it on because it will light up your room at night. I wish I could do the whole house with these outlets. no issues with frizzy cords either, unlike the other one I bought I have to replug the cord every 2 days.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Disappear

It hides the plugs behind the TV

I had to unplug behind my new TV because the cords on my new TV were too short to reach the old outlet. Sunken forks create space. The blue indicator tells me if the ground is ok and if the overvoltage protection has tripped. I'll say the indicator lights are bright enough in a dark room, and I'm glad they're hidden behind the TV. Installs easily into a new double-width outlet. I used a deep box, but it fits in a standard depth box.

  • Satisfied so far

Much more space now

My fridge is sticking out from behind the cabinets. After a refrigerator gave up the ghost due to a suspected lightning strike, we fitted our new one with surge protection. It was a bright black that made the fridge stick out at least an inch. I started searching and came across this recessed surge protector. I'm pretty confident in a simple DIY. It was a single outlet that had to be converted to a double outlet to accommodate that surge protector. It's amazing how much of an inch or two of…

It's on, but is it working? I hope never to find out

Bought in July '19 but I only recently installed it in September '20. I did NOT read the instructions prior to installation, but I am an electrician by trade. Note that for wall box installation, the back cover/housing must be removed. It's only two screws and they come loose instantly, it might have been in the instructions but I'll never know. It will only fit in a modern plastic remake/old working two-speed box. I say this because if you plan to use metal jewelry boxes, they may not be…
