Talk about "plug and play "!

This was the easiest IEEE 1394 card installation I've ever done. It snapped instantly and the computer recognized it immediately and started recording AVI over FireWire shortly after. All my editing programs recognized the card and I went to work. Couldn't be happier.

Pros
  • The PCIe IEEE 1394 FireWire adapter is backward compatible with 400/200/100 Mbps devices. Provide a low-profile bracket and firewire cable, your best choice for a firewire card for PC.
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Windows 10 crashes!

Received yesterday. Took home, HP Windows 10 (the latest updated version of Windows 10) installed on my desktop. It was pretty easy to install, but the metal bracket doesn't fit my case very well, so you'll have to do a little work to get it to fit properly. I turn on the device and when loading Windows 10 it crashes with an error in the photo. It doesn't matter how many times I restart my computer, I get the same error. i will return it

Depending on your computer, an outdated Windows driver may be required to function.

The FireWire card works fine after I installed an outdated Windows driver. The metal surface that attaches to the computer case is cheap. I had to bend it back to a straight position to fit the case. The Eliater FireWire card does what it is supposed to do. There were no instructions or drivers included.

Pros
  • No disc required, 1394 devices built into Windows 98 2nd and newer operating systems (included), no separate driver download required.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
