Good filter for a small tank, according to specs it fits a 10 gallon tank, I think it will work better for a 5 gallon tank or less. Water flow is good and filtration is a spongy element. No room for coal.

I love this product and would highly recommend it. I put it in our 2.5 gallon tank that we use for two African Dwarf Frogs and the tank was crystal clear in 2 days. Our frogs use it as a toy and it's so quiet you'll have to put your ear to the tank to make sure it's working. I run it on the lowest settings and it does the job just fine.

I bought this filter to replace the filter that came with my small tabletop aquarium (which broke in the first week). This filter is great! It's so easy to set up and so quiet you can't hear it. Sometimes I have to put my hand in the water to make sure it's still working, and it does! This gives my fish a gentle current which I think makes them feel comfortable in their natural environment.

LOVE this little filter. I have a 3 gallon bowl so the clip doesn't work. Most suction cups won't work either, but this filter has tiny suction cups that cling to the curve of the bowl. It has a switch to control the water supply. It's still very strong. I ordered extra sponge filters and put one on the way out and it helped. This little guy only has one sponge filter, so I'll add an extra filter to his setup.

If you've got a Fluval spec III, get it if you've got a rooster. Even on the lowest pump setting this is too much for the bettas that left my betta at the bottom of the tank but when I bought these elite filter sponges they helped a lot. They perfectly match the water nozzle on the pump and significantly slow down the flow. My rooster seems much happier now that he can swim to the top and the water isn't repelling him.
