We have a two-story house in the city and we need this effective construction in case of fire - to get out of the house through the window. It's ready to use, doesn't tangle, and doesn't require anything complicated - its design is great for when you're panicking and need something to do the work for you.

It was a purchase for peace of mind

I have never used this product. I hope I never have to. I practiced untangling the ladder, which attaches with Velcro for easy storage in the red bag it came in. Bag made of very durable material in bright red color. This escape ladder is very strong and the clamps that attach to the window frame or balcony are wide and easy to adjust. I would recommend anyone living on the upper floors not only to buy them but also to work out their escape plan with them if necessary.
