Emerson CKS3516 SmartSet Dual-Alarm Clock Radio with Time Projection System (Limited Availability) Review

I bought this watch for my wife after her Oregon Scientific projection watch broke. Emerson CKS3516 outperforms Oregon Scientific in every category. The clock sets itself, which is cool. The numbers on the dial are quite large and the alarm works almost exactly like any other clock radio. What struck me was the brightness of the projection on the ceiling. This is the second Emerson SmartSet radio I have bought. The first was for my wife and I, the second for my mother. I like the long-lasting backup battery (it's a button battery - lithium or something) and the fact that it automatically switches from standard time to daylight saving time in the spring and back again in the fall. When the clock radio arrived the low battery warning light was already on. A new lithium battery was $7, but it was still cheaper than shipping it back, so I bought the battery. This negated any savings compared to buying the unit locally. The Smartset feature is a good idea, but it was programmed about two minutes slower. I'm so glad I found this product at Revain. I originally bought this watch over 4 years ago for my wife for Christmas from a radio shop branded radio shop. Radio Shack has stopped selling the product and it could not be found on the website/catalog either. My whole family loves this product. We had one in the master bedroom.
