This is the second Emerson SmartSet radio I have bought. The first was for my wife and I, the second for my mother. I like the long-lasting backup battery (it's a button battery - lithium or something) and the fact that it automatically switches from standard time to daylight saving time in the spring and back again in the fall. And once you set it up, you can travel across the US and simply set the new time zone you're traveling in. (It's mains powered, so you'll need to plug it in). The display shows the day of the week - - a blessing for my mother, who never seems to know what day it is. The double alarm is very useful. You can set two alarms each day if you and your spouse get up at different times, or you can set one alarm for weekdays and another for weekends. One of the improvements I noticed is the time prediction feature. The first one we bought a few years ago required fiddling with the on/off function after a power outage to get it working again. With a newly purchased projector, simply press the projector's power button once and it will turn on.
