EMPI 00 4450 0 Trigger Shifter Tall Review

Very nice upgrade, shortens and cleans the travel compared to the factory derailleur. I love its ergonomics and it looks great!

All three pieces fit perfectly as advertised. Dune Buggy has been running for years. Almost 40 years. Fun, so new parts were needed. This review includes Beetle Bearing Parts and Reverse Lock Plate.

Installed on a replica MG TD with VW gearbox. This definitely strengthened shifting and reduced uncertainty in gear selection. The release mechanism for reverse gear is significantly better than the original tensioning mechanism. A worthy upgrade for the money.

I replaced the stock derailleur with a VW bug, I had Quickhsift installed and it was fine but difficult to ride because it worked backwards instead of backwards. With this new derailleur it feels very solid and there is no longer a backstop when the gears are stuck. Easy installation with only 2 screws, just align the ball and you're done.

I was disappointed with my recently purchased Volkswagen '66 Buggy derailleur; Replaced the gimbal and bushing and weeks of work on it still didn't work. None of this was helpful. I finally broke down and bought this interlock switch and voila! It turns a sloppy quija board shifter into a regular car. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a 'fixed' switch on their Type 1.

I installed this switch on my 70's Beetle and '74 Karmann Ghia and I love it! This is a significant upgrade to the standard switches. Because this shifter is higher and facing back toward the rider, I find it easier to change gears. I also think shifting into reverse with a trigger is more intuitive than a stick. My only criticism is that there is nothing in the plastic cover to attach it to the ground so it bounces around a bit.

Installed on a 1965 VW Bettle. I doubted it would work as advertised. Installation was easy and took about 3 minutes. This is a huge improvement over swapping stocks! It works great and causes a lot more positive emotions due to the short stroke. You can literally feel the positive engagement of each gear.
