Micron Filter Media

Anyone who owns an aquarium should use micron media to polish or purify the water. You would be very pleased with the results. Crystal clear water. Fresh or salty.

Great find! - Filter accessories

Fast delivery. It is a beautiful fabric and perfect for custom cuts. I plan to coat the back of the secondary cartridges of all my Marineland Bio-Wheel filters for final water purification.

Filter Flow Issues: Filter Accessories

This is a very dense material and cannot flow water from my overflow to the sump. I cut them into 12 x 14 pieces and even cleaned them so they held water. I do not recommend this material for use as a filter.

Helped clean my aquarium and pond

Cleaned my pond and aquarium in 3 days. I trimmed it and put it in my Marineland filters. I use: 1.) Sponge Filler 20 ppi 2.) Sponge Filler 20 ppi 3.) Eheim Substrate 4.) Marineland Zeolite 5.) Seachem Carbon.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

Clogs Too Quickly - Filter Accessory

Look elsewhere. Aquarium Masters 100 micron pods clog much faster than 100 micron and even 50 micron pods from other retailers. In fact, it only lasts a day or two before it needs to be replaced, making it virtually unusable. I throw the rest in the trash.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not Sure

The water is always crystal clear

VERY SATISFIED. I trim all my panels and canister filters. I place it in the first chamber of my Fluval Fx6 just after the black sponge to help remove fine debris that may have built up on the ceramic rings and matrix gravel. I change the polishing pads every 3 months along with the filters. For my Aquaclear 110 I apply it over a sponge and under matrix gravel.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Quickly cleans the aquarium!

Cleaned my tank so quickly! There were so many algae in my tank that my neon tetras didn't show the red color. It was so gross to look at but I didn't want to add chemical seaweed remover to get rid of it. I folded four squares of this sheet (this is a huge sheet that will last me for many years as it can be reused) and placed in a filter. It's amazing in 2 days! The water is now crystal clear! So happy with this purchase!

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

If you need clean water this works

I cut a 3x5 gasket in the overflow before the water drips and change them every 3-4 and right after a water change plus 4x11 inch chamber in my joint. works wonders but gets clogged with dirt if you forget to change. I have an average flow for 29g with a 10g fugue. It cleans polished water from deep cleaning fine sand in an hour with no hassles. Just change the seal after cleaning. I even made filter socks out of it. I recommend for the price and the quantity. Remember that this is a dense…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good quality micron gasket

I bought this large 100 micron gasket in lieu of replacement filter cartridges on a whim a few months ago and am totally impressed. I know buffing pads aren't designed for this use, but I'll take apart the manufacturer's cartridges and build my own using that cloth, charcoal, and hot glue. Then I put the sponge/fiber on the suction side so that large dirt particles can get caught in it. Smaller particles are retained on the micron pad. It works incredibly well and my fully stocked main tank is…
