Can vary from dog to dog and breed to breed. But I have a bully whose hind legs and hips have weakened. Began giving her one pill a day with food which severely affected her mobility and strength. She had a problem climbing the 4 steps we have at the back entrance. But now she's fine and she doesn't have that "rachitic" leg. It has worked really well for us.
