I cannot recommend this product.

I bought 2 of these and one only lasted a month and the other only 4 months. They just don't have enough durability for me to approve. They will still light up the road when the power goes out, but will flash and flicker when the power is on. They don't seem to be able to decide whether or not to get power, so they keep switching back and forth between night light mode and blackout mode. I've tested them on multiple outlets with the same effect and other devices have no problem using the same…

Bought 5, 4 failures within 6 months

They work great until they stop working. I bought 5 of these last year. 4 out of 5 failed within the first 6 months. The problem seems to be the dawn to dusk light sensor, after a few months they start flashing like a strobe light and there's nothing you can do to stop it. If you unplug them they will work, if there is a power failure they will stay on, but under normal circumstances when plugged in they will flash on and off creating a stroboscopic effect that you can't stop. Definitely a…

I live in a flameless building and have them in case of a power outage.

I live in a "flameless" house where you can't light candles. I bought them in case I lose power. Haven't lost power yet but they make great night lights. So unfortunately it needs to be updated. I just blew a fuse in my living room and I felt safe because it was getting dark and I had these headlights. None plugged into the outlet apparently produced NO power. No light. So we don't really believe in blackouts as advertised. It's pitch black in my living room. The lights are beautiful. They work

Great on power outages

Here in North Dakota I have frequent power outages. Either by strong wind, flood, fire or extreme cold. They lasted 2 hours before power was restored. It may take longer, but their time has not been measured or their duration verified. It is great. Exactly what I needed. I like the flashlight and ambient light features. My previous blackout/night lights became just a flashlight or shined straight down many years ago. Limiting the amount of light in the room. They are amazingly bright. I want…

One of the two was DOA in Wall Lights

I have ordered 2 of these. None of them worked out of the box. Plugged them both in and neither worked as a night light. One of them started working after being plugged in overnight, the battery was full and when I tested it as a flashlight it stayed on for at least 15 minutes before I plugged it back in. .The other never worked even after being plugged in for 24 hours so I returned it for a refund. Since the other one eventually started to work I kept it but don't expect it to last long. I saw

Malfunction! Some units are defective.

As others have said, some devices just arrive defective. I bought two and one worked great and the other didn't. I'm not sure how it can be so consistent in the reviews that *half* of the order doesn't work, but it applied to me too. This is a disappointment as I really like the light quality in the night light. I've had other brands of emergency night lights over the years and eventually they all died or at least stopped holding a charge when the power went out. But for the most part, they…

If they work, they're good

Buying recommendation: Try before you trust. I've had several instances where the light worked as a night light but not as an emergency light. When you first receive them, turn them on for 24 hours. Then disconnect them from the power supply. If they glow, you're good. If it doesn't, try pressing the side button, which toggles between bright wide light, dim wide light, flashlight, and off. If it still doesn't work, send it back. However, I bought a few of these, so maybe one in ten won't work…
