Connected first and turned on to the max. There was no fan noise or airflow, but the coil got hot and then started smoking at both ends of the heat gun. Stay away.

Great heat gun for home, boat, car etc. Good range of accessories, great storage box and overall good quality for the price. If you're looking for a heat gun that's essential for long-term professional projects, I'd suggest spending $100-$200. Otherwise, this heat gun is more than adequate for small home projects.

I've spent more time on this than I should have bought alternative heat guns. I was looking for a high quality heat gun with a case. The usual "accessories" that make up a set of X or Y parts are not sold, they are usually not worth the extra cost. Comes with a case and some accessories. The case is well made for what it is (plastic) and the heat gun works really well. I'm glad I got it and it worked really well for what I need it for (shrink tubing).

The carrying case is quite flimsy and the handle broke mainly due to the wrong appearance. The carrying case was a good selling point as I've had heat guns and attachments rattling in the wild before and it's nice to be able to keep tools and components separate. Also, the temperature gauge doesn't seem very accurate to me. or adjustable, as at first glance. It's a good cheap kit, but that's where it ends. This is an inexpensive heat gun. Good hard case, strong power cord, a few attachments, paint scraper etc. My beef and lower score on this item is due to the documentation. Lots of safety pages, legal notices, etc. However, there are no instructions for use, no explanation of what the various attachments are for. I don't have any experience of other hair dryers to compare to this one but am happy with my experience with this hair dryer. I bought it to replace a phone's glass panel (I wish manufacturers could offer replacements for fragile phone glass, especially the back of phones that look silly, but I digress). My fan has a bad switch as other reviews have said. Low and Mid work well, but High is still Mid. Everything else is perfect. The device heats up quickly enough for shrink connectors. That's all I really have to do anyway. I think the big fan might be too hot anyway. It's well designed and the nice body is a bonus as my needs are not ordinary.
