The EPAuto GP165 is a quality product, perfect for the 8th generation Honda Civic. I have tried their cabin air filters on numerous occasions and was impressed so finally decided to try the engine air filter. In general, I'm a bit reluctant to try new things on expensive components like engines and transmissions. But in this case, do not worry, and the product is inexpensive.

I have compared the media in this filter to a silver Napa air filter and it is about the same density/quality. Civic air filters have a rubber gasket that sits on the edge of the plastic frame, the gasket that came with it was loose and a bit too big, I actually took the gasket off my old Napa filter and put it on this one, it tore right on the spot . Not a bad choice, but I think next time I'll spend the extra two dollars and pick up another Napa silver.

This air filter came in a large box with other items I ordered. The build quality of the air filter looks good, and there is an air filter sealed in plastic in the paper box. However, it is not a vacuum because there is still air inside the plastic. The plastic sealing method is good and a better packaging method than its competitors as it prevents dirt and moisture from entering the filter. That way you know you have a clean filter.
