🌬️ EPAuto Replacement 2008-2016 Air Filter: Enhanced Performance & Durability Review

Like reviews of the G9997 not fitting 2015 Outback I found it not fitting 2014 Outback. In 2015 (from the review), apparently, a vertical installation. The 2014 installation is horizontal. Although it's too small for 2015, it's too big for 2014. This company outsources quality control to Revain customers. Just missed the return window so no returns. Save yourself the hassle and buy FRAM (CF10285) or another brand that actually fits.

Smaller than standard. Don't buy the Outback 2015! The filter is about 5mm shorter than it should be. This results in a loose fit in the air cell. Who knows how many particles will get past this filter in a standard airbox. replaced it with autozone's STP Premium and it fits properly and fits snugly in the airbox. I have attached photos showing the filter is shorter than it should be. The bottom filter in the stack is STP Premium, the top filter is EPAuto.

This rating is for first product impression and installation only. Since I just installed it, it's not yet worth evaluating its effectiveness. The first impression was very positive. I was cautiously optimistic about the fit as this is not the product that came with the car. After removing the original filter and comparing it to the EPAuto filter, everything looked exactly the same. Installation was easy, everything fit perfectly. Appears to be well made, but time will tell.

Took 5 minutes to install on my Subaru Outback and I saved about $40 by doing it myself. The filters you see in my picture are compared to a dirty OEM filter. and a clean EPAuto filter. You can see they are the same size and the EPAuto filter has a lot more pleats. This should mean better dust filtering. I'm no expert, but it seems like it restricts airflow a little more than OEM. If I find out there are any downsides to the increased wrinkles I will update my review but so far I am very happy…

Bought because with a simple oil change and tire change at the dealership, which is already a astronomical $92, they wanted to charge an additional $35 for the engine air filter. and $60 for a cabin filter. I've always known they overcharge, but not A LOT anymore. Did a quick google search which provided youtube tutorials on how to change both. The filter arrived about a week earlier than expected (I opted for delayed shipping for an extra $1 Prime credit) and took me about 3 minutes to install
