Correctly connected according to the instructions. It turned on and my LEDs started working and the app worked. Then suddenly the LEDs went off and on again, and that happened again for a short time. Then I smelled smoke and the box was smoking and wouldn't stop smoking even when I turned it off. I quickly cut the power cords to stop the fire. DO NOT BUY, THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD!

Looks like a solid device but the included app is very poorly made and the device won't connect through the bluetooth settings or the app itself. Using a multimeter I confirmed that all Cables were properly connected Voltage was normal Continuity from the end of the strip to the device was good. I have confirmed that the light works correctly when using an alternative controller. I'm using a brand new iPad and iPhone less than a year old. Spent a few hours and it was a huge waste of time.

My setup consists of three 16.4ft (or 5m) 300 SMD5050 RGB LED strips. The EPBOWPT Bluetooth Controller works very well and does not get hot even after several hours of use (at full brightness). Bluetooth range is around 30 feet which is fine by me although the description says up to 20m. I had no problems reconnecting BT which is very good. At first I couldn't get it to work because it kept throwing an error when trying to connect via bluetooth. Thought maybe it only works with iPhone and not with my Android.
