No better than a normal printer.

I have had an Epson 780 for a few years. I bought it when it first came out and it was supposed to be a printing press marvel. However, it was a little disappointing. I've used it to print photos with sketchy results at best. It was a regular printer for the occasional card or text print, but no more. To be honest I was just as happy with the CANON printer that I got from Gateway for free as I was when I bought my computer there. Epson 780 consumes too much. Inks and their inks were/still too…

Best Photo Printer I've Ever Owned

After buying two HP photo printers, I decided it was time to get a really good photo printer. I wasn't willing to spend a lot of money on a photo printer, but I was willing to spend some money and get something good. I spent months researching printers and reading reviews. I've read comparisons of this printer to other printers four and five times more expensive. And the Epson 780 got top marks everywhere. Eventually I went to the store and tested a few of these and they printed beautiful…

Not bad for a second printer

I bought this printer when my trusty Personal LaserWriter LS suddenly gave up the ghost after 8 years. Never before have I taken such a step backwards with new technical topics. Don't get me wrong, I love the 780, but I would never recommend it, or any other inkjet printer, as the only printer for someone who prints any number of black and white pages. The black and white printing is good at best but falls short of the quality my 8 year old laser printer produced the day before it failed. When…

Check out Canon instead

I've had a Stylus Photo 780 for just under a year when I started to smear the ink badly. I did a deep cleaning and then replaced all the cartridges, but that didn't fix the problem. I ended up just putting the Epson in the garage because I got a new computer that came with the Canon S520 printer. The difference between Canon and Epson is like night and day. Both print beautiful photos, but with Canon it's much easier and faster. When I first got my Epson, it literally took me weeks to…
