I used to use glue dots but switched to stickers. My only concern is having to remove the plastic backing which is transparent and therefore easily lost on surfaces which is another issue to deal with. The beauty of glue dots was that they are easy, just peel the dot and place and that's it, with this there is an extra step and the possibility of losing the plastic backing, but they hold the wick better than glue. Just make sure the base of the wick is 20mm to match the base of the wick base.

They worked fine on the first purchase, but on the second purchase they were a disaster. All the candles I've made for myself have had their wicks pop out as the wax started to melt. This ruins the candle and wastes wax and oil. I made some Christmas gifts for friends and children's teachers and some friends told me the wick broke. I use a 2 mm hemp wick for my candles, which burns quite hot. I glued the wick tabs to the bottom of the jar, which is a bit of a nuisance when you have to empty the jar after using the candle, so thought it would be a good idea. Unfortunately my candles have twice lost their wick midway :( Once they come loose they just float to the top and now my half wax filled candle has no wick.
