Fast response time on Kitchenware & Gadgets

This is a good product. It has fast read times and mine was accurate right out of the box. I work in a commercial kitchen, this is the thermometer I use most. The only downer is the background color of the dial, which is a bit harder to see than on a white background. I will probably buy more in the future.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Generally good, but...

Slow and questionable accuracy

Very slow reading, which I understand is to be expected from analog thermometers, but seems even slower than other analog thermometers I've used. I'm not exactly sure if that's true either, but I can't prove it with scientific testing. I ran a test with ice water and got close results, but who knows. YMMV

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Very hot but I'll tell you the temperature

. If you don't want to wear gloves (I did and they only fog up and I was able to read the temp) it takes about 15-30 seconds to stop and read the temp. Easy to clean. But I wouldn't recommend it. It's also 6 inches tall.

Pros
  • . Pleasant
Cons
  • . Some insects.

Oh, maybe something is wrong

Video shows the block snapping into the oven. The face began to melt at 150 degrees. But it was exactly when it stopped working. Not designed for 220F. The ad says "Stainless steel cup clamp for hands free measurements". So in the oven, otherwise your hands are not free. Carefully. No manual, no documentation, no instructions, no warnings. Can this be used in the oven? More than 50 years of experience show that a glass thermometer can be used in the oven. Oh, it's not glass. It's cheap plastic.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • No paint required
