I saw a video on YouTube about changing the Biocube fabric filtration and using that instead. This emptied my tank in a few hours! I have a lawn mower dog who loves kicking sand all over the place. This helps keep sandstorms to a minimum. I'm so glad I saw this video and stumbled across it. Now I don't have to worry about buying Coralife filters every few weeks. They didn't work that well to pay close to $9 every week.

Someone mentioned residue on the foam and they're right. I assume something is preventing the foam from spoiling during storage. Whatever it is, it washes off with water and won't harm my saltwater fish. I've already ordered a few things. I change them out every few days or a week and pop a bundle in the washing machine every few months. No more constant rinsing and cleaning. Works great for keeping my sump pump clean.

Beautiful! She cut it with scissors with no problem. I use this for a water bottle on my bike to keep the water from spilling out. The water bottle is designed to allow the rider to drink while in the riding position. This is to replace an old filter that fell apart after 20 years. I don't actually use this as a filter but as a water bottle trap to keep the water inside. It works just as amazingly as what it originally was.

High quality filter media can be quickly cut/cut to desired shape. We easily made a filter for our patio fountain from this material; perfectly protects the pump from insects, dirt, etc. and can be reused - we just turn off the pump, remove, rinse and rinse and put the filter back. As a bonus, we have enough filter material left over to make a few more when the original wears out. I can't speak for aquarium applications, but it seems the filter would work just as well in that role. Excellent…
