Description of Estwing BP12 12-Inch Plastic Handle in Black
Lasts a lifetime. For the casual user to the projessional. Crafted with quality and in America. Gold pan is rust proof. 12-Inch length. 6-Ounce Weight. The preferred choice of geologists and archeologists.
I use it as a finishing pan, fine but remember to season it before use. Rub sandpaper or just rub in some sand that will help hold the fine details in place.
This one collected water during the manufacturing process and had a lot of plastic on it. I've used several cheaper alternatives that didn't have this problem. I really like Estwing products but they don't work.
Love this pan. Like his size. Three thumbs up. + definitely. This arrangement of the pans is great. Holds a lot of stuff in the pot as well as this color. Must buy.
Excellent skillet; beautiful and hard. Like black because it shows gold better to me. Has small "mold" protrusions in the pan at the bottom of the casting that need to be leveled out with a razor blade or they will grab the non-gold material - not sure if this is typical but the last pan I bought , it didn't have this.
This is probably the pan I use the most because it has a larger base. I also like the mini reefs when I get to the black sand. I have several different pans and black is the easiest to identify gold. I would give 5 runs if it was just a tad thicker. It's thinner than my other pans.
I bought this gold tray for a friend who has never panned for gold. We were there last weekend and really enjoyed panning for gold. We found a few spots that made it even funnier. Just dig up some dirt from the creek bank and put it in a pan, then add water and let it drain. Do this a few times until you get to the bottom of the mud and sometimes you can't see small grains of gold at the bottom of the pot.
I really didn't need a golden saucepan. I needed a travel record. Feeder to balance on his knees, sitting on a deck chair. It's great for that and small enough for a soup or steak on the bottom with potatoes on the side. I dared to put it in the dishwasher and set it on the maximum temperature to "disinfect". It's a little warped, but putting it on the table is no problem. Simply hand wash or don't fry the item and you'll be fine.
Works well, no loss of gold on the first tray (always double tray to make sure nothing spills). In my opinion the larger ribs could be a bit "deeper", especially when working with 1/4 concentrates. I was afraid of knocking out the gold with smaller edges while panning the flow, so I panned three times. I like finer edges when it comes to an all black sand scene and I try to get finer detail. I find the black pan shows both the gold and green, but it's hard to really see the black sand. I will…
